Alberta Métis Begin Holding Traditional Hunts Throughout Alberta

Today, October 17, the Metis Nation of Alberta announced the start of traditional Metis hunts being held throughout Alberta. The hunts are organized by appointed Captrains of the Hunt with the support of Metis harvesters throughout the province.

On August 19, Métis from across the province unanimously rejected the Métis harvesting policy put into place by Ted Morton, the current Alberta Minister of Sustainable Resource Development.
