Position: Team Leader Service Delivery
Location: MNA Provincial Office, Edmonton

The Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) is seeking a competent professional to fill the position of Team Leader, Service Delivery, under the MNA flagship program of “Labour Market Development (LMD).The Team Leader, Service Delivery carries authority and management responsibility for Client Services and Project Based Services under the LMD program, including supervisory responsibility of staff and management of client services and project services operations.
In particular, the Team Leader, Service Delivery will ensure that the unit develops and implements effective and efficient services designed to assist Alberta’s non-settlement Métis prepare for, obtain and maintain employment.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in business or public administration or a related field.
- 5 years work experience managing staff and programs in a professional services team.
- Demonstrated leadership, time management and organizational skills.
- Related experience in issues resolution and policy implementation.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading teams with a strong focus on accountability.
- Ability to facilitate and conduct meetings to achieve specific results.
- Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with a broad variety of clients, staff, and external organizations.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex multi-stakeholder projects and issues.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and consult with, government officials, communities, partners and LMD employees.
- Effective conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
- Understanding of budgetary controls and financial accountability practices.
- Extensive travel required (up to 2 -3 trips per month) to locations within Alberta.

Métis Judiciary Council
Position: Administrative Assistant
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
The Métis Judiciary Council is seeking a competent professional individual to fill the part-time (14 hours per week) position of Legal Administrative Assistant. The position is responsible for providing confidential administrative support to Métis Judiciary Council. The Legal Administrative Assistant acts as first point of contact for the Judiciary Council office ensuring an attentive, professional and responsive approach is conveyed to all staff, government officials and the general public. This position requires the utmost attention to privacy and security of information based on legislation and policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Secondary education as a Legal Secretary is strongly encouraged and/or several years of related experience may be considered.
- Experience in a legal environment and knowledge of legal terminology is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven administrative skills.
- Ability to carry out detail-oriented tasks accurately and independently.
- Experience working in a team environment as well as working independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer and database experience.
- A good working knowledge and understanding of the Métis Nation of Alberta.
- Experience in working with the public and comfort in public speaking.
- Ability to make quick comprehensive decisions.
- Ability to handle conflicts.
- Work effectively in situations involving rapid change, shifting priorities, and/or simultaneous demands.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to speak and understand Michif would be an asset.
Providing a clean criminal record check and financial record check is mandatory. Also the ability to be bonded is mandatory.
