The Métis Nation values self-reliance, self-sufficiency and individual and collective rights and freedoms. The Métis Nation possesses the right of self-determination, including the inherent right of metis governance which may be expressed and implemented by its citizens at the local, regional, provincial/territorial and national levels.
Adopted in the Métis home land by the Métis National Council on July 28, 1994.
